Mae Sa Elephant Camp

23 Aug

Mae Sa Elephant Camp and Khao San Road

I received this postcard yesterday (Aug22). The handwriting looks so familiar but the stamp is from Thailand. Then I remember Nikki.. 🙂 She went to Thailand with her siblings and sent me this postcard. I find it so sweet since she normally tells me if she is sending me postcard.

I have been to Thailand but not in Chiang Mai where Mae Sa Elephant Camp is located. I only had few days to explore Thailand but I promise myself that when I have the chance again, I will spend a lil more time exploring Thailand.

Kings Canyon

Kings Canyon is part of the Watarrka National Park in Northern Territory, Australia.
The walls of Kings Canyon are over 100 metres high, with Kings Creek at the bottom. Part of the gorge is a sacred Aboriginal site and visitors are discouraged from walking off the walking tracks.

Pictorial Map of Japan feat Festivals

Pictorial Map of Japan feat Festivals

“MATSURI” is the Japanese word for a festival or holiday. These Matsuri are sponsored by a local shrine or temple, though they can be secular.

One of the largest festivals is Sapporo Yuki Matsuri, held in February for one week. It began in 1950 when high school students built snow statues in Odori Park, central Sapporo. The event is now very large and commercialized. About a dozen large sculptures are built for the festival along with around 100 smaller snow and ice sculptures. Several concerts and other events are also held.

If there’s one festival I would like to go to, it will be any of their Cherry Blossom Festival 🙂
But it says that though Japan celebrates Cherry Blossoms the entire season, there are specific locations for cherry blossom festival.

thank you bianca (bs_jp) for sharing this pictorial map By the way she told me that she has been to the festival in tokyo and Sapporo. She mentioned that if you want to go to any festival, you need to book your hotel accommodation atleast 2months in advance. o.O 😀

Swiss Map

I have sent a lot swiss maps and flags to instagram postcrossers and I dont have one for myself 🙂

I received this Swiss mapcard today and I am just feeling great. I got this via Postcrossing ❤

Switzerland, i would say, is one of the most beautiful country I have seen so far. From the mountains to the rivers and lakes, even if its winter summer spring or fall, they are just lovely. The sound of the swiss cow bell at night is also fun for me. (not to mention the smell) It’s Switzerland!
I love their food and the people are also nice. The only thing I find a little negative is that, its kinda expensive to live there.

We have been to some Swiss mountains like Titlis and Saentis and the view from the top is just awesome. It feels really different when you are on top whether you are seeing clouds of the view down there, its such a great feeling.

This is surely one of the place Id keep coming back and I surely wouldnt get tired of it.
